Barcode scanning to invoice

Scans a barcode and books that stock onto a job as material used.

Record a recognised stock item as material used on a job.

Before you start

Availability: Crew plan and above. Enabled business features, role permissions, connected providers and supported devices may add requirements.

Documented roles: Owner, Office, Field. A role name alone does not override the permissions set by your business.

Where to find it: Stock & Inventory > Barcode scanning to invoice.

Open Scan, choose Use on job and select the correct job. Check the item and unit before confirming a quantity.

Step by step

  1. Open Scan and choose Use on job.
  2. Pick the job, then scan the item barcode.
  3. Confirm the quantity. The scan books the material against that job.
  4. Stock in, stock out, transfers and van locations stay on Business.

Worked example

Scan the barcode on a fitting, confirm the matched catalogue item and record the number used on the selected job.

This is an illustrative scenario. Use your own approved scope, quantities, rates and business rules.

Check the result

Reopen the job and check the material, quantity and resulting charges. Resolve an unknown or ambiguous barcode before recording use.

Limits and troubleshooting

This Crew feature records job material use; it does not itself issue or send an invoice. Stock receipts, transfers and multi-location stock management retain their separate Business permissions.
