Check and apply mobile app updates
Recognise update progress, apply a downloaded update at a safe time, and distinguish app-store builds from compatible over-the-air updates.
Before you start
Use a supported installed AllQuote app and a reliable connection. Finish and sync current edits and uploads before deliberately restarting. A release number on another phone does not prove this device has received the same update.
Plan eligibility, business features, permissions and device support still apply. Reading a guide does not grant access.
Step by step
- On a fresh launch, the Opening AllQuote screen can check for and download a compatible update before opening your work. Watch the status and, when available, download progress.
- A ready compatible update can restart during this initial opening screen. If checking or downloading cannot finish promptly, the current installed version remains available.
- After the app has opened, a later download does not automatically restart over your work. Open Settings → About & credits to inspect the app version and update controls.
- Use Check for updates where available. Wait for Update ready, save your work and check Sync centre and uploads before choosing Restart.
- Review the restart confirmation and choose Restart now only when ready, or Later to continue working. Reopen About & credits afterward to check the version now running.
Worked example
A worker opens the app before leaving for site and a compatible update applies on the opening screen. An office user already editing a job receives an update later and waits until the job is saved and synced before restarting.
This is an illustrative scenario, not a customer testimonial.
Check the result
Check the running release marker after restart and open the workflow you need. A downloaded update and an applied update are different states.
Limits and troubleshooting
- If Update could not finish appears, check the connection and try again; the current version is still available. Do not reinstall while unsynced records remain.
- Some changes need an App Store or Google Play update because they change the native app or its runtime. Over-the-air updates apply only to compatible installed builds. Web browsers do not use the native update controls.
